A familiar name on the London club scene, Graeme Lloyd has gained well deserved recognition both as a DJ and a produce., accross the global clubbing scene. As well as playing regularly for The Gallery at the Ministry of Sound, he's played further afield in Russia, Ukraine and China among others, while his latest single, 'Waveform', is out now on Stripback Records and follows the success of earlier releases like 'Candiru' and 'Rock 'N' Roll'.
'Twisted tech house with a driving, progressive edge' is how Graeme describes his sound and it has made him a firm favourite at The Gallery where he played first at Turnmills and now at the Ministry of Sound. Graeme has played at some of the biggest clubs on the planet including Cream at Amnesia and Bora Bora in Ibiza; The Cross, Pacha, Turnmilss, The End, Brixton Academy, The Egg in London; and the South West Four and Electric Garden festivals to name a few.
Graeme has also travelled the global club scene including trips to Norway, Ukraine, Australia, India, China and Russia, in particular, where he has played several times with great success.
2009 has been one of the most successful years to date as Graeme started things off with a bang playing at Ministry of Sound on new years eve. Then continueing to play sets at MOS throughout the summer, including his debut set in the main room at Ministry. With 2 guest sets on Ministry radio and trips to Russia, Poland and Romania the year has contined to be a busy one.
Graeme has flourished as a producer over the last 18 months and long nights spent in the studio are yielding serious results. In particular, last summer’s collaboration with The Catz, 'Candiru' on Playtime Records, became a big track in the clubs. Awarded four stars in DJ magazine, it became a firm favourite with many of the big players and Nic Fanciulli is quoted as saying, "It's been the biggest track in my box for the last four months."
Graeme’s first release on Stripback was 'Rock 'N' Roll', which came with a very tasty remix package including a Luke Brancaccio 'Suicide Sports Club' mix and a version from The Catz. It has had some serious DJ support too with D.Ramirez, King Roc, Tim Davison and Raymundo Rodriguez all getting involved.
'Waveform' is the third release on Stripback Records and maintains the label's reputation for forward thinking and energetic progressive and tech house. With its well crafted percussion, rolling synth lines and acid touches, it's a dancefloor bomb that builds and builds but never loses its essential groove. A strong remix package sees I:AM – take 'Waveform' deep into electro house territory for some serious big room action. Techno producer Tommy Four Seven takes the track in a whole new direction with immaculate production and a clever twist at the end, while Dan Cat creates a deep tech vibe full of electronic strangeness for those after hours sessions.
The big names are really taking notice of Graeme’s work with DJ support from D.Ramirez, Mason, Anil Chawla, Filthy Rich and Gordon Edge, as well as 5/5 from Dubfire who has followed Stripback Records from its inception.
Graeme Lloyd is available for DJ bookings worldwide through Sedition DJs.
